Sally Jacobs is a painter and professor of art in painting and drawing. She received her MFA in 2007 from Western Carolina University where her most influential teachers were Barbara Grossman, Judy Glantzman, Lois Dodd and Stephen Westfall. She received her BFA from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio in 1991.
Jacobs has been the recipient of the Premio Prize from Leo Fortham studios in Florence, Italy. She has also been the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts regional Artist’s grant. In 2012, Jacobs was selected for an international artist residency at Can Serrat in El Bruc, Spain.
Jacobs has had numerous exhibitions, including one person shows at Gruppo Donatello in Florence, Italy, the Paris New York Kent Gallery in Connecticut, Theater Arts Gallery in High Point, NC and numerous group shows at the Mobile Museum of Art in Mississippi, the City Gallery in Charleston, SC, the YMI Cultural Center in Asheville, NC, and the Arlington Arts Center in Arlington, VA. Her work is currently on exhibit at Bella Vista Art Gallery in Asheville, NC. She lives in Kings Mountain, North Carolina with her husband, Scott and three year old son, George.
