"My choice of subject matter is usually determined by an emotional response to color relationships, patterns in nature, or a particular space that I may or may not understand. I work slowly, with lots of questioning and reworking, often over a period of several years. I am fascinated by implied enclosures of space, whether organic and evolving, or stage-like, structures that suggest balance and order."
